Synopsis:  It’s bad enough Nicole Gabrielle is a low-ranking Sigma Wolf—she also harbors a taboo secret that would expel her from the Bryant Wolf pack there in the Pacific Northwest.

Nicki is half were-Coyote born from the notorious Juarez Coyote Pack.

But Nicki has bigger problems. Were-Bear gangsters blackmailed her family, and the only way to pay them off is to doctor her Pack records and disguise herself in order to hire on at the exclusive Timber Ridge community. No matter how hard she tries to fly under everyone’s radar, however, the hot and charming Jake Bryant pursues her with a royal vengeance, risking exposure to her deadly secret.

As the High Alpha’s heir apparent, Jake Bryant must abide by one specific Wolf law—he can never marry anyone below his Alpha rank. Unfortunately, his forced-upon fiancΓ©e Eva LeBlanc only loves his half-brother Neil.

If only he could locate his mystery “Sheila” who rescued him from Arcan Hunters one night twelve years ago. She is the only person who has been able to help him make sense of his chaotic life, and the only woman he’s ever truly desired.
With the exception of this intriguing new employee in the Pack organization…

Who seems strangely familiar.
What threw me off about this book was the timeframe it was in. And I suppose the fact that it's a retelling of Cinderella but with Werewolves....

That too...

  Back to the timeline though!
This is book 2, but the beginning and 88% of Heir take place both before and during book 1. That last 12% of the book takes place after book 1, so we get some snippets of the couple from Knight and see how they're doing- which made me unbelievably happy.

Heir is from the POVs of Jake (the best friend of the main characters and couple in book 1) and Nicki the child of the couple from Forbidden Territory (the prequel that I reviewed last week).
I really liked Jake's pov because we got more behind-the-scene snippets of our favorite couple from book 1, and those snippets explained what had been going on from different povs- and heck, revealed a whole lot more than I thought was going on in those scenes!

Jake let us see all of his edges in this installement which made me like him a lot more than I originally had! So needless to say, he was my favorite.

I do have to say on the topic of characters- Jake's father is not one of my favorites at all, yes he has his moments, but Jake's mother is the best side character in this book as far as I'm concerned! Though it was very interesting to see Neil and Alexia as side characters and through Jake's pov no less!

There were a few moments of annoyance at the characters because when do they ever do what we want them to?
Us readers clearly know what's best for them- especially relationship wise ;)

But I thoroughly enjoyed this uniqe sequel & werewolf Cinderella. As always with Addison, the endings of the main books make you squeal and have heart eyes 😍.
And makes me wonder which couple I like more now... couple from book 1 or couple from book 2??? πŸ€”

[My Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟] [3.5 stars]

    1. If you try her books try the Sons of the Alpha first, her writing style has improved a lot in this series and then between Heir and the first book too!
