Journal of a Tired Indie Writer~Pt. 2

Welcome back journal of my embarrassing writing habits, hard-discovered tips, and writing progress. I did not miss you.  Anywhooo~ onto the entries!! Saturday | All-day            Welp, we tried journal.      Around work, I was supposed to do massive writing today. I was to go to one of my favorite coffee shops and visit my wonderful baristas and friends and get some writing in. However.... I was so tired and I ended up sleeping in, and despite the fact that I still had time to go- my brain kept insisting that I'd missed my window and I should've gotten up earlier for it if I was going to go. So then I cleaned. And when I wasn't cleaning, I was staring at the computer screen (thinking about writing) before seeing something else to clean in the house. Then it was time for work, and OF COURSE I was too freaking tired after my job to sit down and write even just for a few minutes that at this point I desperately need. Jour...

Journal of a Tired Indie Writer ~ Pt. 1

Journal of a Tired Indie Writer ~ Pt. 1 Welcome to my black hole website/blog/rant sessions, you must be new here. Don't worry, so am I. These ''journal of a tired indie writer'' blog posts are going to be just some of the kinds of posts I put out. They're going to be a kind of venting with coffee session for me, but advice and tips for others that are at any stage of any kind of writing. They also will be humiliating for me because I'm not going to sugarcoat or hide any of it. I have always been big on honesty so these blog posts/journal entries will be full of all kinds of embarrassing mistakes I make at all points of the writing process, but hopefully they can help encourage other writers or just make someone laugh today.   Welcome to my chaos as an author and my coffee ramble-- toast! *lifts mug for lonely cheer*                ...

So it's a big step to let it go and let others read it. (Remember the freak out session with letting a Beta Reader read it? Because I do!) FEAST YOUR EYES!! Of Beta Readers & Author's Advice | Another Writer's Post

As some of you know, I'm still revising my debut novel and getting it ready- though I haven't actually updated a lot of you on how it's going, and I'm sorry about that.  Today's post is going to be more of writing advice and venting about my own experience as well- though I do have a treat for you guys as well for putting up with my rambling!  I contacted several authors and asked them different questions on the topic of Beta Readers , so you'll get lots of helpful writing advice in this rant!! Q & A w/ Addison Carmichael     [Author of The Guarded Trilogy and the Sons of The Alpha series ] Q:  What is a Beta Reader in your definition? A:  A person who reads your manuscript prior to publication to see if the general public will respond positively to it once it’s rolled out.  She is the “every woman” who avidly reads the same genre with gusto, and who you want to win over as well.  Because if she loves your story ...

Writerish Questions | Writing on Wattpad

I am a writer- and I loved to write way before I loved to read.  Some of you may not know, but I'm currently writing and revising a novel: a sci-fi YA that is turning into a series/duology... Another writing-related thing you most likely don't know: I write a lot of my works on Wattpad . I did a lot of practice writing by writing fanfictions and such on there.  That was why I joined Wattpad, was to get better at dialogue and pacing, and have feedback from my audience and fellow writers. It's AMAZING !! I love Wattpad (just make sure to save your writing every once in a while), there are clubs that you can join, based on genres and then other ones specifically for editing questions, marketing, publishing- and much more. I've been writing on there for a while now, and I've made several writer friends and definitely improved my writing.  If I have a question, need tips or advice- I can make a discussion in any of the clubs and quickly get lots of d...

A Tale of ARCs | A Ranting Session

My lovely friends! I know it hasn't been that long since I updated last, but I'm going insane so I'm taking a few minutes to update now before it turns into a two-week-long vacation *nervous laughter*. So as many of you know, I've been having a ARC-Reading-Month. I've received quite a few ARCs or review requests in the past month, and have been trying to pump out the reading time and reviews as quickly as I could. It hasn't been going well in case you were wondering. So lets have a ranting session, because those are always fun! So to de-stress, let me share with you A Tale of ARCs ! I finally finished Starfall by R. M. Anderson last month and got the review out (though I was running behind by like two weeks), so I'm just still surprised and happy with how that turned out. Before that though, there had been a few others that had also taken awhile and I'd been behind on as well. Orion's Awakening by L. C. M. Joseph was by far the...

Favorite Writing Memes | A Writer's Paradise

Okay, so I know a lot of people that love to write and are also writing a novel/book series. Now I personally love to look at writing memes (when I'm not writing or reading), and a lot of them are true for me. Like very, uncomfortably true. So if you guys write, like to write, or even if you don't- let's look at some writing memes together! For those who do write, you'll be surprised how accurate these are. For those who don't write, you're missing out on coffee addictions and all-nighters in which you try to finish a novel. (Doesn't that sound so appealing?! I'm being sarcastic by the way...) So onto those memes! YEP, this is what it's like going back to look at your old writing or even a chapter you did a couple months ago.... Okay, first I love this series. My whole family does. And whenever someone picks up my first draft I come running and (depending on who they are) I usually body slam them to get it away from th...
