The Month of March & Bouquets + April's Superlicious TBR!!
Time for the monthly wrap up and next month's to-read picks!!
I know it's probably weird to pick ''bouquets'' to go with March, but I kept seeing so many pretty flowers and bouquets this month! It was decided for me by all the lovely sights this past month.
I mean, look at these pictures (just imagine that the picture on the left is made from the pages of the book you HATE the most):

My Weekly Pull | 13 |
My Weekly Pull is something I do every Wednesday to show which anime, manga, and comic I pull for myself for the week. My friend Lindsi @ Do You Dog-ear? hosts My Weekly Pull for comics that she has read or is reading, so make sure to check her out because it was such a cool and fun idea that I asked if I could do it for anime and manga as well as comics!
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Last Week's Anime...
I know that I missed the past week's Weekly Pull, but there was a book review I had REALLY need to get out- and was only able to do it on that day. But here's the updates on what anime I watched since the last My Weekly Pull!
I watched some more of Black Butler (currently on episode 13), and Angels of Death (I restarted the anime with a friend and am now on episode 6)!
Last Week's Comics...
I managed to squeeze in time for another comic- Justice League VS Suicide Squad Vol. 4!
This Week's Anime...
Up next, I plan to finish season 1 of Black Butler (if not this week, then the next).
I'm rewatching the last two episodes of season 3 of My Hero Academia- to prepare for when season 4 comes out!! *squeals!*
And I'm looking into some other anime I heard about, but I'll tell you guys more about them next time- I went to give them a try first!
This Week's Comics...
Since it's the last couple days of March, I won't be reading any manga or comics- I'm just going to be finishing up some things and completing some reading goals!
What are you guys currently reading/watching? Anything new? Have you heard of any of these or watched them? What did you think??
Thanks for reading, have a lovely day!! <3<3<3

Of Beta Readers & Author's Advice | Another Writer's Post
As some of you know, I'm still revising my debut novel and getting it ready- though I haven't actually updated a lot of you on how it's going, and I'm sorry about that.
Today's post is going to be more of writing advice and venting about my own experience as well- though I do have a treat for you guys as well for putting up with my rambling!
I contacted several authors and asked them different questions on the topic of Beta Readers, so you'll get lots of helpful writing advice in this rant!!
Q & A w/ Addison Carmichael
[Author of The Guarded Trilogy and the Sons of The Alpha series]
Q: What is a Beta Reader in your definition?
A:
A person who reads your manuscript prior to publication to see if the general public will respond positively to it once it’s rolled out. She is the “every woman” who avidly reads the same genre with gusto, and who you want to win over as well. Because if she loves your story enough to go out and purchase it, perhaps others will as well.
She is not:
• Your writing professor or editor. So don’t expect her to tell you where to fix your typos, grammatical errors and structural mistakes. That’s not her job.
• Your BFF—who will tell you how much she loves your story just to make you feel better about yourself and your art. If you need to feel warm and fuzzy, get a blankie.
• Your critique partner—who will tell you that your manuscript is only birdcage worthy, because “to be cruel is to be kind” in this cutthroat business. If your BR is too critical to the point of being mean-spirited, ditch her and get another. She’s not doing you any favors by making you question why you’re even in this business.
• Your husband—who will tell you anything positive, so that he isn’t sleeping by his onesie on the couch tonight.
Q: Do you ever use a Beta Reader more than once when writing a novel?
A:
No. And before you offer others’ differing opinions, I’ll say again—no, nada, nyet.
Your book should be ready to publish. You’ve written the story, rewrote the manuscript a gazillion times, polished it, primped it, prayed over it, covered it, kissed it, ready to put a ring on it, until you truly believe this is the Great American Novel that will go down in world history.
Then you give it to your BR who will then tell you why it isn’t.
After you’ve huffed over her ignorant opinion (How dare she say that a vampire should hiss instead of growl—Edward did!), take a few days to cool off, then go back and read through the manuscript again as if you’re the one picking it up from B&N for the first time. You will then probably spot the same flaws that were hiding from you, but is obvious to anyone else who isn’t the creator.
Or you’ve looked objectively at it again and disagree with her. That’s okay, too. It is your book and your decision after all. Not all BRs are going to agree with the majority of readers out there. They’re only one person’s opinion. You’re just trying to get out of your own head for a minute.
Q: What Are the top 3 most important Questions you would ask your Beta Reader(s)?
A:
• Do you enjoy reading for entertainment, and do you read at least one book a month?
• Do you enjoy reading in the genre this book is in?
• Will you solemnly swear to at least finish the book before you throw it across the room?
Q: How many Beta Readers do you have?
A: I have one very brilliant and spot-on BR that I believe truly missed her calling to be a high dollar NY Publisher’s editor. I’ve been career writing for over 25 years, and have had more betas, editors and critique partners than I care to count. She has been by far the best, and as an added bonus has stuck with me the longest (4 years and counting). If you get a reader that even finishes one book, much less goes onto the next one, it’s always a win.
Still, she’s the exception, not the rule. You don’t need a lot of BRs, and you should never use more than three for one book. Remember that everyone’s opinion is different, and the more readers you have, the more conflicting issues you’ll get from them, making the real issue as having too many readers who disagree with each other.
Q & A w/ Rachel Pudsey
[Author of The Watcher of the Night Sky series]
Q: What are the top 3 most important questions you would ask your Beta Reader(s) about your manuscript?
A:
1. Were the characters believable?
2. Did you notice any obvious, repeating grammatical, spelling, punctuation or capitalization errors?
3. Did you feel there was too much description or exposition?
Q: At what stage in your writing do you use a Beta Reader(s)?
A: I personally wait until the final first draft is made before I send anything out. I would then work on editing each chapter at a time and send them out in order.
Q: How did you find your Beta Reader(s)?
A: While many authors seek beta readers through Facebook or other social networks, I am lucky to have friends who are also writers and incredibly honest. In the future, I aim to work with a bigger team, at which point I will approach some people I already know online who have offered their services.
A: One of mine is very detailed and looks into the flow and word usage. He points out grammar issues as well as recommends changing word choices or making dialogue changes. He even asks questions about plot and character choices if he thinks it doesn't match the story.
The above authors, are Indie authors that have been a great help with writing advice and that I encourage you guys to contact or check out their work!
You guys know how I love Indie authors, lol!
Noel's Venting/Rambling Session~
I've mentioned before how I write fanfiction (or I did for several years), and that it really helped with my writing- both with skill and getting more of it done. I did all my writing on Wattpad which I mentioned and gave tips for in an old post (you can find here if you don't remember).
Wattpad was a writing community, so I met lots of other writers through it.
And that's how I found some of my Beta Readers, others I met through my blog- I won't say who but they were one of my first blogging friends and we happened to join the same book club and discovered we had similar tastes in books!
Now there was an incident where someone had offered to give me feedback and then I never heard from them again after giving them a couple of chapters- luckily it was only a few and an older draft that was very much unpolished compared to now.
Though I was very paranoid about having a Beta Reader because of that for a while.
I had to reach out to some other authors and ask how they got over that fear, and to be honest- I'm still not over it.
Other than that, my Beta Readers have offered me a lot of help and it's true- they each offer and focus on something different.
I've noticed that every writer is different from how many Beta Readers they have, what they do for them, etc. Some Beta Readers solely focus on editing- some may just read it and criticize and hand it right back!
When writing, it's important to not copycat what other writers do- do what works for you only. So for me, that means more than one Beta Reader- but not more than five.
Sorry for all the venting Y'all!! But I hope you got some good writing advice from Rachel and Addison!!
Thanks for reading!!

Book Review | Thomas Wildus and The Book of Sorrows by J. M. Bergen
*I was sent an ARC of this book by a publisher in exchange for an honest review, my thoughts and opinions are my own!*
Title: Thomas Wildus and The Book of Sorrows
Author: J. M. Bergen
Published: February 2nd, 2019
Genre: Middle Grade; Fantasy
LINKS: https://amzn.to/2u0rwmt
[About: Thomas thinks he's an ordinary twelve-year-old, but when a strange little man with gold-flecked eyes gives him an ancient text called The Book of Sorrows, the world he knows is turned upside down. Suddenly he’s faced with a secret family legacy, powers he can hardly begin to understand, and an enemy bent on destroying everything he holds dear. The more he reads and discovers, the deeper the danger to himself and the people he loves. As the race to the final showdown unfolds, Thomas must turn to trusted friends and uncertain allies as he seeks to prevent destruction at an epic scale.]
Can a Middle-Grade Fantasy remind you of so many other favorite series, but also be nothing like them at the same time? I'm gonna go with yes!
At the beginning this book made me think about the good 'ole days with Percy Jackson and Harry Potter, it just gave me that vibe- though they are completely different.
This first book felt like a large introduction to a new adventurous series to do with young magicians, but you only actually get the big picture halfway through when everything really picks up.
I personally really enjoyed the story before the climax- I know, I know- it wasn't the exciting part! But I was kind of backward with this book, I enjoyed the slow parts a lot and the build up so much that the climax was not my favorite part.
It was weird, yes.
But it's one of those books where the side characters and the main character's normal life (that's about to fall apart) were just so entertaining! These were sad, hopeless 12-year-old boys that I just had to feel sorry about because one's head turned to absolute mush when he so much as saw the girl he liked. And they turned out to be magicians!
So what do they do?
Pranks, of course! I absolutely loved Thomas and Enrique- they're boys after my own heart! *sniffles*
I'm curious to see what the author does with the next book and the characters, there's clearly
more to discover about their abilities and of course Thomas' dad- and the epilogue just gave more hints that there was more to come.
Speaking of the epilogue... I know I said everything before the climax was my favorite... but can I include the epilogue in that? I really liked that too...
SPOILER: Thomas gets a girlfriend! (The little innocent child is growing up!!) *squeals*
So, is this a Middle-Grade that I suggest trying? Yes, if you like Middle-Grades- I definitely suggest this one- it brings back so many book ideas and plots that I loved when I was younger.
[My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐] [3.5 stars]
Have any of you heard of this book or read it before? What did you think of it? Do you like Middle-Grades??
Thanks for reading!!

Anna and The French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins | Book Review
Title: Anna and the French Kiss
Author: Stephanie Perkins
LINK: https://amzn.to/2UtjPAU
{Synopsis: Anna is looking forward to her senior year in Atlanta, where she has a great job, a loyal best friend, and a crush on the verge of becoming more. Which is why she is less than thrilled about being shipped off to boarding school in Paris--until she meets Étienne St. Clair. Smart, charming, beautiful, Étienne has it all...including a serious girlfriend.
But in the City of Light, wishes have a way of coming true. Will a year of romantic near-misses end with their long-awaited French kiss?}
Okay, I owe you guys a long overdue book review!
It took a lot of courage for me to pick up this book. For one, I hadn't ever read a contemporary at the time I read this- so it was a scary adjustment. I actually attempted to read quite a few contemporaries in the month of February to get me over my fear of them.
Yes, I was actually afraid of reading contemporaries xD
Last month, Anna and The French Kiss was one of the best books I read! I am now over my fear of romantic books!! 😀
So while I did not necessarily like Anna at first- she really grew on me throughout the story to where I couldn't not like her! To be fair, the only reason I hadn't liked her at first was because she'd been so upset about going to Paris, France.
Bloody Paris, France, Y'all!! (FOR THOSE WHO DON'T KNOW: I'm utterly obsessed with France.)
I really didn't care for most of the side characters until about half way through, when they too- grew on me.
This book was absolutely wonderful and I'm in love with it 😍😍!
I did get frustrated with Anna multiple times, for one she had been a bit of a hypocrite towards her friends- and I mean a harsh hypocrite. And for another, she had actually gone after another girl's boyfriend. Though that aspect didn't bother me, because Anna was trying to be friends with St. Clair- she had already stated he was not an option especially when her new friend was in love with him too.
So... does that make it all St. Clair's fault? *Le gasp*
Not to mention he was giving Anna lots of mixed signals and encouraging her...while being a coward and running back to the girlfriend he'd already kinda cheated on...
Huh. When you put it that way, he's no longer that dreamy... but if you go back and re-read the last two chapters, you fall in love with him too.
This book has increased my expectations for both real and fictional guys (hence why I'm still single).
[My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐]
Have you read this book, is it on your TBR? What did you think of it??
Thanks for reading!! Have a lovely day!!

~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Last Week's Anime...
It's actually been around two weeks since I last updated you guys on My Weekly Pull, but I'm happy to say that there was some progress! (Better than nothing, right?)
But I've been watching two anime
**drum roll**
Angels of Death - I am now on episode 4.
I am not loving it, but it is intriguing to say the least. I'm hoping for a bit more in the story I suppose, but we'll see what happens.
Black Butler - My friend talked me into watching this anime with her, and now... I'm still being forced to watch it. It's rather good, though there are some aspects of it I don't like. I'm now on Season 1 Episode 10!
Last Week's Comics...
Justice League VS Suicide Squad Vol. 3 was maybe better than the first two in the series. It just ties me in from the first page and is really getting palces!
My older brother actually caught me reading the comics and asked to borrow the ones I was done with! So when I finished one, he read it.
(He's hooked now, in case you're wondering.)
This Week's Anime...
Since I'm too far into Black Butler to stop now... onto the next episode!
I also will be checking out another anime I recently heard about- Kaichou wa Maid-sama!
What are you currently reading or watching? Have you heard of any of these?? What are your thoughts?
Thanks for reading!

Keep It or Ditch It? | You Pick #1
It's no secret that I'm drowning in books on my TBR, I'm sure you all are as well though. So I've decided to do something about it!
My friend Amber @ Du Livre does blog posts where her readers get to pick one book she reads each month, and she lists the books they can pick between.
Well... in this post I need you guys to help, but not to pick which one I will read.
Here's how it works:
1. I show you one or two books that have been on my TBR for AWHILE
2. I tell you why it was originally put on there, and yes they will all be books that I'm not sure if I actually want to read or should read!
3. You guys tell me if I should keep it and read it, or if I should ditch it and get it off my TBR!
What do you think? Care to help out a friend with her ever-growing intimidating TBR mountain?
The Wrong Girl by C. J. Archer
Book 1 of the 1st Freak House Trilogy
Synopsis: It's customary for Gothic romance novels to include a mysterious girl locked in the attic. Hannah Smith just wishes she wasn't that girl. As a narcoleptic and the companion to an earl's daughter with a strange affliction of her own, Hannah knows she's lucky to have a roof over her head and food in her belly when so many orphans starve on the streets. Yet freedom is something Hannah longs for. She did not, however, want her freedom to arrive in the form of kidnapping. Taken by handsome Jack Langley to a place known as Freak House, she finds herself under the same roof as a mad scientist, his niece, a mute servant and Jack, a fire starter with a mysterious past. They assure Hannah she is not a prisoner and that they want to help her. The problem is, they think she's the earl's daughter. What will they do when they discover they took the wrong girl?
The cover originally looked very intriguing to me, as did the synopsis. And I'll admit I still am intrigued and very curious!
(I found the ebook format for free on ibooks.)
I like to read all genres pretty much, and it's been awhile since I read a gothic romance...
Should I Keep It or Ditch It??
Please comment and let me know!!
Thanks for reading!!
