~ Weather + Books I got this month ~
I don't know what it was like for you guys this month, but I was either melting from heat or stuck in a rain storm that threatened to make the power go out.
Perfect for reading indoors!
At least for some of us, I actually spent the time going to thriftstores and my favorite book store to get books cheaper than at Barnes and Noble *scowls at cup of coffee*.
I know a lot of people love Barnes and Noble, but I am not one of them sadly to say. My favorite ''book store'' to get books from is Half Price Books. (Here's a link to their website.)
ANYWAYS.... before I make you hate me, I want to tell you what books I got this month!
Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs
Attack on Titan Vol. 1 by Hajime Isayama
Ever After High: A Semi-Charming Kind of Life by Suzanne Selfors
Ever After High: Next Top Villain by Suzanne Selfors
Magic Kingdom For Sale by Terry Brooks
Blackbird Fly by Erin Entrada Kelly
Counting By 7s by Holly Goldberg Sloan
Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
Jurassic Park by Micheal Crichton
Cold Magic by Kate Elliott
ghostgirl by Tonya Hurley
The Princess Diaries Vol. 1 by Meg Cabot
The Curiosity Keeper by Sarah E. Ladd
Lockwood and Co. The Screaming Staircase by Jonathan Stroud
Wake by Amanda Hocking
War Storm by Victoria Aveyard
Whatever After: Dream On by Sarah Mlynowski
~ Books I was trying to buy (but sadly could not) ~
I went to my favorite book store (Half Price Books), but they sadly did not have the books I was looking for, and the ones they did were like book 3 or 4 that I didn't want (as I'd just started the series). Or certain ones that caught my eye I didn't have enough money for.
But not to worry, I was able to buy lots of books throughout the month. However the books below will be ones on my wishlist, I suppose.
Heartless by Marissa Meyer
Renegades by Marissa Meyer
Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
Flame in the Mist by Renee Ahdieh
Warcross by Marie Lu
Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas
Please let me know if you come across any giveaways for the above!
~ Movies/ Shows I watched this month ~
Well, I rewatched Thor Ragnorak (again).
And I also rewatched multiple Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan movies while eating ice cream. I discovered that I prefer Sleepless in Seatile to You've Got Mail. (Probably because of all the references to An Affair to Remember with Carry Grant.)
And lets not forget that Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Chat Noir has (FINALLY) come out with season 2 on Netflix *falls out of chair while cheering*!
Though I mostly watched anime (not surprising).
I've been staying caught up with My Hero Academia, and I started and finished watching One Punch Man. Needless to say, I've fallen in love with yet another fictional character.
Rachel Pudsey, fantasy author of The Aronia Series, offered to interview me for her blog! (Still can't believe I was interviewed!)
You can find the link to it here.
I answered 8 questions, and had a lot of fun!
Check out her website here.
The one we've all been waiting for, what did I read this month?
Well, in June I read:
[ 3 stars] Review here
[ 2 stars]
Review here.
[ 3 Stars]
[4 stars Review here]
[4 stars]
[ 4 Stars] Review Here.
[ Did not finish, but I will return to another time]
[2.5 stars] Review here
~ I also decided to include my TBR for July! ~
So there will be more books I'll read in July, or there could be less. So I can't promise that I will completely stick to this list:
I'm going to try to finish The Young Elites by Marie Lu, I had to take a break from it because I really did not connect with any of it but I am already over half way through- so I can at least fnd out what happens
Then I offered to get a ARC copy of The Shadow Minds Journal by Kia Carrington-Russell in exchange for a honest review.
The Night Circus by Erin Morenstern, will be a Buddy Read with my friend Desara (her blog is linked above) on July 10th.
I will also be reading the Book of the Month for the Bookalicious Book Club, but I'm not quite sure what it will be yet.
And I will also be hosting another ReadAThon in the month of July, but more details will be posted soon. I'll say this though: Hufflepuff Pride!!
And that is my first ever monthly wrap-up, how did I do?
Would you like to see more of these Wrap-Ups at the end of every month? Please let me know!
How was your June? Was the weather nice? How much reading did you accomplish?
Thank you for reading!!

Love the wrap-up! Gave me a quick hot and heavy list I can look at for future books.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm glad you liked it, it was a lot of fun to do so I think I will do more in the future :)
DeleteLovely wrap up as always and thank you for including me in your post! I love Saitama from One Punch. He is one of the funniest characters in anime. I personally enjoyed The Young Elites series but I am a really chill reader xD Let me know what you think of it!
ReplyDeleteOf course and thank you! Saitama is the most hilarious character I've seen in awhile! Now I just go up to my best friend and go,''ONE PUNCHHH!!'' and throw a slow motion fist at her and she does the same lol. xD I just realized that sounds like I hit my friend, but we don't actually hit each other lol.
DeleteI will definitely let you know once I finish The Young Elites!
The closest bookstore to my house is Barnes & Noble. I haven’t been there in years because it’s so expensive. I love to support bookstores, but at B&N, I’d spend my whole budget on 1 book. Enjoy your new books! Happy July!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Same! Even with coupons, I can only afford one book. Happy July to you too!
DeleteSounds like you got some really great books this month! My brother reads the Attack on Titans books and he absolutely loves them! Maybe I'll borrow them from him someday soon. Lovely haul!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I plan to watch the anime for Attack on Titan soon, so I'll get ready for it with the books lol :)
DeleteI am MELTING in Texas--too hot. I never want to go outside unless it's dark, but even then only in the mornings.
ReplyDeleteSorry you couldn't get Heartless! It's one of favorites! I love the origin story for the Queen of Hearts. <3
L @ Do You Dog-ear?
Ahh, I definitely need to read it then! Thanks for letting me know! :)
DeleteThanks for checking out my blog! I wasn’t the hugest fan of The Princess Diaries, I much preferred the movie, but I’m willing to give the other books in the series a shot!
ReplyDeleteOf course!
DeleteI've only seen the Princess Diaries movies, I didn't even know there were books until a month ago! Now I'm going to see if I like them.
